Challenges with Export Certificates

The number of countries that require export certificates is growing. Knowing which certificate applies to your particular product can be a complicated question to answer, let alone determining how to go about successfully submitting your product for an export certificate. Just about every product regulated by the FDA can get an export certificate; however, each product has several kinds of export certificates available. Importantly, products may be exported from the United States and may obtain export certificates even if they aren’t “legally marketed” in the United States; but to do so, the product must comply with a long list of mandatory requirements. This process can become extremely complex and slow down the process of exporting your product to your client or desired country, but it is possible.
